  1. So fun to hear you on the sorta awesome podcast! I just listened to it and couldn’t help but comment because we have an amazingly similar story. I am not on social media, so have found you here!

Anyway, I live in CA and met my husband when I was a high school resource specialist. He, too, was a father when I met him. We got married when his son was 12. We later started the foster adoption process when we couldn’t get pregnant. I too, have had one surprise pregnancy that ended 24 hours after we heard the heartbeat and 3 weeks after we lost our first foster placement who moved to her biological cousin to be adopted. Six years later, my step son just graduated from college, we have a 5 1/2 year old girl we adopted through foster care, and we still foster babies and are open to adopting should the need arise (though we’re getting up there in years so have some hesitancy around that).

In any case, it was almost uncanny hearing your story and how much it relates to mine. I never thought I would know someone else who shared so many life moments – many of them difficult. We seem to have a similar perspective on a lot of it, too. It must be our foundation in the Lord.

God Bless You and your family. Thanks for sharing your story.
